Rumor Mill: Mac Tablet Poised for Fall Release
If The Financial Times reports it as fact, it must be, right? The release date is still sketchy, but it looks like Apple junkies will have a new, color screen, ten inch tablet to jones for come September. The tablet is primarily created to boost full album sales of CDs as we reported yesterday, but is also poised to be in direct competition with the various e-book readers available on the market now. Watch out Amazon…we’re coming for you.

Blast from the Past
Remember way back when your aunt got her first Mac and the logo was a smiling Apple computer? We do, and have fond memories of the gray and white body, the pixilated happy face, the rainbow striped logo in the corner. Now that the Apple logo is a pop culture icon, celebrate the old days with this throwback handmade case you can get on the etsy website for $25…buy a few for the cousins, and apologize for hogging the Mac all those years ago.

iTunes: Use Counts to Make Smart Playlists
Humans are creatures of habit, and that certainly extends to our music libraries…if you want to avoid falling into the trap of listening to one track obsessively until you can’t stand it anymore, make good use of your Play Counts when creating new playlists for iTunes or your iPod. Reset your entire library to Play Count 0, then create one huge playlist…each song will only play once, and guaranteed you’ll end up enjoying things you never remembered putting on in the first place. Like that vintage Foghat you’re rocking out to.

And it’s pretty darn cool—at least that’s what Ari Weinstein says in this interview. Actually, he puts it much more elegantly…but the kid is a genius. Read the full article from the Philadelphia Enquirer and enjoy his wit and complete irreverence for one of the most highly regarded pieces of technology yet created.
